Biography

General information

Peter Vives Newey, born in Barcelona, 14th of July 1987, is an actor, singer and piano player. With catalan father and New Zeland mother, he speaks english, spanish and catalan. He is also the nephew of the producer and assistant director Murray Newey.

 

He studied psychology and physics, combined with performing arts. He plays the piano, and he can also play guitar. 

 


 

Cinema

Throughout his career, Peter has worked on a total of 10 films in Spanish, Catalan and English.

 

In 2004, Peter had a short role in his first movie, Amb el 10 a l'esquena, and two years later he intervened in The Cheetah Girls 2, where he played Ángel, a young singer and guitar player wandering around Barcelona.

 

In 2007 he participated in the film Savage Grace, with the actress Juliane Moore, and a year later, in Sing for Dafur. In 2009 he went into the thriller with Paintball, and a year later he played a photographer in Di Di Hollywood.

 

In 2011 he participated in one of the stories of Mil Cretins, and a year later he intervened in the TV3 movie, Volare and in Invasor. Finally, in 2013 he had a costar role in Barcelona nit d'estiu

 

 

Television

His first TV appearance was in 2009 in an episode of the catalan show 13 anys i un dia, and a year later he went into the national catalan television with his main role in the show La Riera

 

With his role of captain Patrick Walcott in the TVE show Águila Roja, where he intervened in 5 episodes, he was known nationally. Two weeks later, he interpreted Marcus Logan in Maria Dueñas book adaptation, El tiempo entre costuras in Antena3.

 

Peter is currently working in Velvet, where he acts as Carlos.

 

Theater

Peter first started in the world of the theater in 2013 with the play Tots fem comèdia directed by Joaquim Oristrell, and in that same year, he played a small role in Taxi... al TNC!.

 

In 2014, he played Jim O'Connor in Tennessee Williams's El zoo de vidre, directed by Josep Maria Pou
